Overview
Aster needed a single storefront that reflected live stock levels across 40+ physical pharmacies — without a costly ERP re-implementation. We built a Shopify Plus frontend wired directly to their Dynamics 365 Business Central instance via a real-time sync layer.
Orders placed online are fulfilled from the nearest branch, pricing rules managed in D365 flow through automatically, and pharmacists see online orders in the same queue as walk-ins.

The Challenge
Inventory data lived exclusively in Dynamics 365 across 40+ locations. Any mismatch between the online store and physical stock caused fulfilment failures and customer complaints — especially for prescription items with tight regulatory controls.
The Solution
We built a real-time middleware layer on Laravel that webhooks Shopify order events directly into D365 sales orders, and pushes D365 item availability back to Shopify inventory within seconds. Pricing rules, tax codes, and stock reservations are all managed in D365 — Shopify just presents them.
